We are looking for an experienced Tax Staff Accountant who is searching to do what they'll love - continuous learning and problem solving! Do you have experience in tax accounting? Do you love food? Trader Joe's is unlike any place you've ever worked. Trust us on that. The qualified Tax Staff Accountant has at least 2 years of tax accounting experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA, and we have an in-office expectation of 5 days a week.
The Tax Staff Accountant is responsible for:

• Sales/use tax compliance
• Property tax compliance
• Assisting with making tax payments
• Preparing and review B & O monthly filings, Beverage and Meals Tax filings, and other miscellaneous filings.
• Preparing and submit monthly and quarterly census reports
• Preparing month-end close workbooks and reconciliations
• Assisting with new store setup
• Performing research on various tax topics and communicate with tax department jurisdictions
• Working collaboratively with other departments.

The Tax Staff Accountant has:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
• CPA licensure and/or advanced degree in Tax or Accounting, a plus
• 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience
• SAP S/4 HANA experience is a plus
• Excellent written, verbal, communications, and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
