Evansville Manor, a well-established and a trusted provider in the skilled nursing space located in Evansville, WI, and a proud member of the Eden Senior Care Network, is looking for an Activity Director to enrich the lives of our residents.

Position: Activity Director

Nature and Scope:

• Assists with planning a comprehensive program that includes individual and group activities that meet the needs and interests of the residents.
• Plans and directs activities. (Escorts residents to and from activities as needed).
• Supervises volunteers helping with in-house activities and on community outings.
• Provides one-to-one activities for residents who are not participating in group activities.
• Performs duties in a professional manner in compliance with the facility and Therapeutic Recreation Department policies and procedures.
• Maintains quality daily attendance/ behavioral records.
• Posts monthly program calendars and maintain good communication with all departments.
• Assists with setting up and decorating for activities and special events.
• Attends and participates in Therapeutic Recreation Department staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Customer Service Performance Expectation:

• At this facility, each resident, family member, visitor, and coworker is considered your customer and is vital to the success of our organization.
• Ensures activities occur on the date and time scheduled. Assists residents in getting to activities and gives reminders as needed.
• Report changes in health, physical, or mental, to the supervisor and/or their nurse. Maintains complete confidentiality.
• Aware of residents' performance in activities so they can be encouraged to attend their favorites. Place residents' dignity above their own comfort and seek assistance immediately upon needed.
• Ensures resident lives are maintained to the extent possible by providing activities and contact with the Community.
• Provides guidance and acts as a resource to staff on the importance of life enrichment and other areas regarding the quality of life for residents.
• High level of ability in effective and succinct communication, written and oral, with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must have experience in planning, organizing, and executing a varied schedule of life enrichment opportunities for all levels of seniors, from those who are very active to those with cognitive impairments resulting from Alzheimer's and related dementias.
• Monitors life enrichment budget, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to supervise employees and train volunteers.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks.

Qualifications:

• Experience in long-term care required; previous experience as an Activity Director strongly preferred.
• Experience working with residents with dementia preferred.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, care conferences, and MDS documentation preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MEPAP Activity Director Certification required.
• Strong creativity, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for working with older adults.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and participate in weekend manager rotation.
